Job-ID33125648Reference26-10378Salary$135,000-$145,000 / yearPay Rate: 135,000.00 to 145,000.00 per year Location: New York, NYResponsibilities:Support ongoing production maintenance and phased rollout implementation of the HR, Benefits, and Timekeeping functions of HR/Payroll systems.Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and configuration of Middleware infrastructure (IBM WebSphere, MQ, and Cognos).Support the infrastructure of critical citywide applications.Function as one of the technical administrators for the group, work independently, and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.Requirements:A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, or a related field and minimum 4 years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and minimum 8 years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,Equivalent education and/or experience as stated above.Preferred Skills:Minimum 5 years' experience in Middleware Administration, specifically in IBM WebSphere Application Server Traditional (tWAS) and WebSphere Liberty on Linux or UNIX-based platforms.Experience managing WebSphere Liberty server configurations including server.xml, bootstrap.properties, and jvm.options.Experience using Git for source control and configuration management.Experience using Ansible for middleware administration, automation, configuration management, and application deployments.Experience with Jenkins, CloudBees, or similar CI/CD tools is preferred.Experience with Configuration as Code and DevOps methodologies is preferred.Experience in administration of other associated middleware products like IBM MQ, IBM Server, IBM WebSphere Message Broker, Oracle WebLogic, Cognos.Perform Middleware application upgrades and patch installations.Experience in understanding and debugging Java errors.Good understanding of relational database concepts and experience in SQL.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Previous experience working with an enterprise-wide, large-scale environment.Ability to support 24x7 and be able to work nights/weekends as required.Ability to perform detailed Root Cause Analysis of problems.Ability to plan, manage time according to schedules, and provide status updates when required.Ability to work quickly to learn new applications and resolve issues.Ability to clearly document and explain symptoms and solutions to complex problems.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.Ability to be self-motivated and find answers on his/her own.Excellent communication skills (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.Benefits:The City of New York offers a comprehensive set of benefits and programs to employees, including health insurance, pension plan, Deferred Compensation Plan (with 457, 401K, and Roth IRA options), pre-tax Commuter Benefit program, pre-tax Flexible Spending Accounts programs, and more.Additional benefits such as prescription drug coverage, dental benefits, vision care benefits, and more are also available through District Council 37 – Local 2627, the union that represents employees in this title.
