Import Export Coordinator | Manhattan, NY | Salary up to $70,000

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage international air and ocean import and export shipments from origin through to final delivery.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs clearance paperwork.
• Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines, customs brokers, trucking companies, and warehouse providers.
• Monitor shipment progress, track milestones, and proactively resolve delays or operational issues.
• Arrange bookings, collections, deliveries, and other transportation requirements.
• Communicate regularly with customers, providing shipment updates and responding to queries.
• Ensure all shipments comply with relevant customs regulations and international shipping requirements.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update internal freight forwarding systems.
• Assist with quotations, invoicing, and shipment cost control where required.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and international partners.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an import/export coordination role within an international freight forwarding company.
• Knowledge of international air and ocean freight operations.
• Understanding of shipping documentation, customs procedures, and import/export regulations.
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in freight forwarding software and Microsoft Office.
• A proactive, problem-solving approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
