Carpet & Custom Rug Fabricator

Havertown Carpet Co. is looking for a skilled, dependable Carpet & Custom Rug Fabricator to join our growing flooring operation. This is a hands-on position focused on the fabrication and finishing of custom area rugs, runners, and specialty carpet products for residential and commercial projects.

The ideal candidate has experience working in a carpet workroom, rug fabrication facility, flooring shop, or similar environment. We will also consider candidates with strong flooring, upholstery, textile, or manufacturing experience who are interested in learning the trade.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate custom area rugs, runners, and specialty carpet pieces
• Measure, cut, square, and prepare carpet according to work orders and specifications
• Perform carpet binding, serging, and finishing
• Fabricate custom stair and hallway runners
• Seam and assemble carpet when required
• Apply backing and other finishing materials
• Inspect finished products for quality, dimensions, and workmanship
• Read work orders, diagrams, measurements, and job specifications
• Maintain an organized and clean workroom
• Properly handle carpet, remnants, and customer materials
• Assist with material receiving, organization, and inventory as needed
• Coordinate with our sales, warehouse, and installation teams to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule

Qualifications

Preferred experience includes:

• Carpet fabrication or carpet workroom experience
• Carpet binding and/or serging
• Carpet cutting and seaming
• Custom area rug fabrication
• Stair runner fabrication
• Flooring installation or flooring warehouse experience
• Experience using carpet workroom machinery and hand tools

Previous carpet fabrication experience is strongly preferred, but we will consider candidates with related flooring, upholstery, textile, manufacturing, or skilled-trade experience who have excellent attention to detail and are willing to learn.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship. This position requires strong attention to detail, accurate measuring, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to consistently produce clean, professional finished products.

Candidates should be dependable, organized, comfortable working independently, and able to safely lift and maneuver carpet and flooring materials.

Position Details

Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Compensation: Competitive hourly pay based on carpet fabrication and workroom experience
